It is with great sadness that we announce the permanent closing, at its present location, of Ichabod’s Tavern/Sleepy Hollow Banquets. When we opened, almost four years ago, we had the highest hope to be there for many years. We put our heart and soul into fixing the facility up and making it a friendly, welcoming and fun place to be. We met wonderful people and had great times. The lack of parking space, unfortunately, has put an end to our business. When we signed our lease back in 2008, we had no idea that the majority of land (that originally went with the Days Inn building) had been sold for development next door. For the first three years we were there we were still able to use the land and conduct a good business. But, when the curb went in dividing the land so we couldn’t use it anymore, we had problems that couldn’t be resolved. There is not enough available parking space for us to bring in enough business to keep the place running. We tried, as best we could, to work around it. But, we finally came to the conclusion that nothing was going to happen to change the situation and we made the very difficult decision the close the business.
We want to thank all of our loyal customers and friends for patronizing us. Hopefully, we will be able to find a new location and reopen. Until then, we’ll miss you!
